YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk sentenced to six months in prison and one year of probation

On November 8, the Seoul High Court held an appeal hearing on Hyun Suk’s crimes against the Enhanced Punishment Law, focusing on charges associated with threats of retaliation, leading the court to make the ruling. decision to punish him with the aforementioned sentence. Yang Hyun Suk’s charges date back to August 2016, when it was alleged that the agency’s founder tried to prevent an investigation into a former member of the group. When discussing the ruling, the court stated that the victim’s accusations were credible, but due to a forced investigation and interview with Yang Hyun Suk, the process was hampered to this day, and that even though the same court added that the Seoul prosecutor’s office could not provide tangible evidence, admitted that the accusation against the founder of Y.G. was sufficient to find him guilty, for causing psychological distress and undue pressure on an individual.
