The National Election Commission of Morena published an agreement to give a senatorship to the candidates who win the poll to be candidates for the nine governorships and who are lowered due to the gender parity rule.

“The candidates best positioned in the results of the internal organizational processes in the federal entities of Chiapas, Mexico City, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Morelos, Puebla, Tabasco, Veracruz and Yucatán, who due to a possible gender adjustment are not designated in the Transformation Defense Coordination, may choose to be directly designated as coordinators of the Defense of Federalism in their entities in the first place,” the agreement reads.

The agreement of the National Elections Commission also established that those who come in second place, whether men or women, will also have a senatorship.

“In the other federative entities, applicants who are positioned in second place in the preferences to represent MORENA in the results of the surveys, regardless of gender, may choose to be directly designated as Defense coordinators or coordinators. of Federalism in its federative entities in the first place,” dictates the agreement.

Yesterday, the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) confirmed that the parties must nominate at least five women in the governorships, so Morena will have to decide which states will be for men and which for women. which could mean that men who are better positioned in the demoscopic exercises do not obtain the candidacy.
