AMLO highlights the start-up of the Santa María Dam in Sinaloa – El Sol de México

Andrés Manuel López Obrador highlighted the commissioning this weekend of the Santa María dam, in the south of Sinaloa, and said that it is a great work that he described as majestic.

Insisting that the dam is a great work of hydraulic civil engineering, the president said that “we found it stopped with an advance of 25%, as it was announced it costs around 10 billion and they had invested about 2,500.”

He added that the Santa María Dam was built without credit and that it was built with a public investment budget. He assured that just like this work they found others that will also be finished, such as La Presa “El Zapotillo” in Jalisco, as well as La Presa “Libertad” in Nuevo León.

Later he said that he will announce a plan that will allow the irrigation of water in 100 thousand hectares in Sinaloa and he took the opportunity to thank the Governors of that state, Quirino Ordaz, who concluded his mandate, and Rubén Rocha, for the support to build this dam. .

Also, he thanked the company ICA, and its director Guadalupe Philips, responsible for this work, because he said that “they are acting in a professional and responsible manner.”

He stressed that it is very important that this work begins, while recognizing the work of Germán Martínez, head of Conagua. “I would like to thank the director of the National Water Commission and the engineer Cedric Iván Escalante for his effort and commitment,” he said.

He stressed that the turbines of the Santa María Dam need to be started to generate energy, although he stressed that there is already water to supply the towns that lack the liquid, but he added that he hopes that before his Government concludes, he hopes that they will come to an agreement. agreement to start up the turbines.
