The president of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) in Jalisco, Katia Castillo Sandoval, denounced that last Saturday was victim of an incident outside his home, located in the municipality of El Salto.
“In the early morning of January 6, I discovered with deep dismay that outside my home the vehicle in which I was traveling was starting to catch fire,” he explained.
She said she was worried, like the majority of Morenistas and sympathizers, because when she approached the car after putting out the fire she found “a container with remains of flammable liquid, which clearly indicates that this it was not an accident”.
For this reason, he filed a complaint with the competent authorities in the State, who he said he was confident would resolve who caused the incident.
“We cannot point to any person or group as responsible for this atrocious act. The situation is particularly delicate given the current political climate in Jalisco,” he said.
He assured that speculating now is not the solution and asked political parties, candidates and sympathizers to carry out a respectful electoral process without risks for citizens and the political class.
“Morena Jalisco is committed to a peaceful, fair and transparent electoral process. This incident will not intimidate us“, nor will it divert our attention from the work we are doing to represent citizens.”

According to photographs provided by Morena Jalisco, the affected car is a white Toyota Hilux truck.
