AMLO creates commission to monitor the implementation of the IMSS- Bienestar – El Sol de México

Andrés Manuel Manuel Obrador published this Wednesday in a decree in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) to create the Presidential Commission for compliance with the National Agreement for the Federalization of the Health System for Well-being.

The decree stipulates that the Commission will promote strategic actions of collaboration and public policies between the different levels of government “for the efficient integration of health services in the Health System for Well-being.”

The purpose of this Commission is to “monitor the processes to implement the operational strategy for the federalization of the Health System for Wellbeing” in the states of the Republic where this Health system will be launched.

The decree for the operation of the Commission will come into force the day after its publication in the DOF and will be in force until the end of the López Obrador Government, that is, until September 30, 2024.

This presidential body will have to meet in an ordinary manner at least four times a year, and in an extraordinary session, as many times as necessary.

In addition, you may request the public agencies, entities and institutions of the three levels of government to report on compliance with the objective of the IMSS-Wellbeing.

Likewise, it will issue the operational criteria under which the different agencies and entities of the Federal Public Administration must act, in order to coordinate and provide the support that is required, for the implementation of the operational strategy for the federalization of the Health System for Wellbeing in the federal entities that have signed the National Agreement for the Federalization of the Health System

The document indicates that the Commission will report directly to President Andrés Manuel López and will be made up, among other members, of: the Secretary of Health, Jorge Alcocer; the general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoe Robledo, who will serve as Technical Secretary.

As well as the governors of the state of Nayarit and Tamaulipas, as well as the head of the Ministry of Public Health of the state of Sonora.

The commission will also include military personnel such as the head of the General Directorate of Military Social Security of the Secretariat of National Defense and the head of the General Directorate of Health of the Secretariat of National Defense, as well as the head of the General Directorate of Human Resources of the Secretary of the Navy and at least one other representative of the same institution.

To date, the States of: Baja California, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas, Colima, Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Michoacán, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Puebla, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí have joined the IMSS-Wellbeing , Sinaloa, Sonora, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Zacatecas and Mexico City.
