AMLO maintains that the US stopped intervening in Mexico after the pause in relations with the embassy – El Sol de México

The President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador He assured that after imposing a pause in relations with the Embassy of the United States (US) due to Ken Salazar’s criticism of the Judicial Reform, that country has no longer intervened in Mexico.

However, during his morning conference he criticized that country for not reporting the details of the extraction in Mexico towards Texas, from the bosses Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada and Joaquin Guzman Lopez.

Asked about how the pause with the United States is going, the president said: “Well, they have acted responsibly, because since they took that position, they have publicly stopped intervening, because They made the mistake of speaking out against the reform of the judiciary“.

The president added that “it was understood that this is a matter for Mexicans and that we are a free, independent and sovereign country. Fortunately, there have been no more opinions on this matter. It is the legally and legitimately constituted powers that are resolving the issue of constitutional reform.”

He President Lopez Obrador He also mentioned that there is no longer any need to receive the US ambassador in Mexico, Ken Salazar“We don’t have any issues right now, on the contrary, things are going very well in terms of migration,” he explained.

However, he was asked about the United States report to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) regarding the arrest of the drug lords. Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada and Joaquin Guzman Lopez last July, to which he responded that in that regard it is necessary for the neighboring country to clarify what happened, because “the Prosecutor’s Office has not received any information.

“They made an agreement and did not inform us (…) they even released or gave a different status to one of those detained in the United States, at the same time that they took another person and that requires an explanation, because if we are now facing a situation of instability in Sinaloa, it is because they made that decision and we do not agree that Mexico should be ignored,” he criticized.

He also stressed that, “here (in Mexico) we have a problem” when referring to the Violence unleashed for 10 days in Sinaloa for the arrest of Zambada and Guzman Lopez.

The president qualified the violence that has been generated between the gangs of “Los Chapitos” and “Los Mayos”, and said that before the violence in Sinaloa did not exist.

“Of course we are facing it (the problem of violence) and solving it, but In Sinaloa there was not the violence that there is now (…) we have also had to take special measures and move elements of the armed forces, and we have also lost officers who have been killed due to this special, extraordinary situation, because it is not the same when the Mexican State intervenes as when a completely irregular matter occurs, such as someone being kidnapped through an agreement and taken to the United States. That also does not convince us and we are asking for information,” said the Tabasco native.
