Bus runs over a child who survived cancer – El Sol de México

A 9 year old boy identified as Elyas Amyr Marshall-Rodríguez died from a hit by a school bus in Orlando, Florida.

According to local media, the little boy got off the bus and a few seconds later, returned to get under it. Some witnesses mention that Elyas wanted to reach for a ball.

Likewise, it was detailed through a Go Fundme campaign that the minor was in a state of remission after having been ill with leukenia since he was 2 years old.

“Elyas was a resilient child, full of energy and a joy for life. He overcame lymphoma cancer (leukemia) that he was diagnosed with when he was two years old. Despite this exhausting journey, he always had a smile on his face and had been in remission,” reads the campaign created by one of the relatives.

Likewise, he added that “he was truly an outgoing and loving child. He loved football and dreamed of playing in the NFL. He was loved by his neighbors and friends throughout his community in Waterford East. His loss is truly unbearable and unworthy.”

Orlando authorities They are already investigating how the accident occurredalso if the school bus had mechanical failures and the reasons why Elyas returned after getting off.

Dozens of people gathered at the place where Elyas died to pay tribute to him with candles.
