Christ the Redeemer of Brazil projects Taylor Swift: the humanitarian initiative that achieved it – El Sol de México

Taylor Swift’s fans continue to show the world that they do everything for the singer: from camping days before to get the best spot at her concerts, not sleeping to get a ticket, getting a tattoo in her honor or making it to the imposing Christ the Redeemer. from Brazil the face of the interpreter of Lover will be projected.

The Eras Tour arrives this Friday in Brazil, where Taylor Swift will give six concerts: three at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro and three more at the Allianz Parque in Sao Paulo.

To receive it, the followers managed to have a Swiftie t-shirt projected on Christ the Redeemer, in Rio de Janeiro, the same one Taylor wore in the You Belong with me video.

How was Taylor Swift projected at Christ the Redeemer?

After confirming that the singer would perform in Brazil, her fans mobilized to ask the mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes, to help them realize the idea of receiving Taylor Swift in a spectacular way.

Paes agreed and was the intermediary with the person in charge of the projections at Christ the Redeemer, Father Omar, rector of the Sanctuary of Christ the Redeemer and parish priest of the San José de la Laguna Parish.

But beyond the spectacular welcome that the Brazilian Swifties achieved, the initiative that Christ the Redeemer opened his arms to welcome Taylor Swift has a humanitarian cause.

#TaylorNoCristo is the campaign launched for Swifties in Brazil and other parts of the world to support Brazilians in situations of vulnerability and social exclusion in view of the World Day of the Poor that will take place on November 19, at the initiative of the Pope Francisco.

The objective is to raise funds to donate kits of bottles of mineral water and panettone, one of the most famous sweet breads consumed in Brazil during Christmas, to the social institutions supported by the Sanctuary.

Thus, the Brazilian swifties have fulfilled their promise to support the cause, since so far funds have been obtained to donate 20 thousand kits.

“Thank you very much swifties and to everyone who has already contributed! We are ready to face this challenge together. We count on each one of you in this gesture of love and solidarity,” expressed the Sanctuary in charge of Father Omar.

The Shake It Off performer is now ready for her shows in Brazil, for which she stayed at the luxurious Fasano hotel in Ipanema, where she was also received by hundreds of Swifties on the outskirts.

After the six concerts in the South American country, Taylor Swift will take a break for several months and The Eras Tour will return next May on European lands.
