Constituents will have reversible lane due to works on Cablebús L3 – El Sol de México

Starting next Sunday, Avenida Constituciónntes will have a reversible lane for those who wish to travel to Santa Fe.

Today the head of Government of Mexico City, Martí Batres, explained that this is due to the installation of the Panteón de Dolores station on the next line 3 of the Cablebús. Due to the maneuvers they have to occupy a full lane of the avenue.

As a solution, the government will enable a reversible lane on Constituciónntes in the direction of traffic towards Santa Fe, which will allow work for the construction of station 5 of the Cablebús.

“It’s just this piece, it will be closed for about six weeks, we are talking about the first half of January to be opening it. And we require it for the assembly of the station, to do it safely, due to the capacity of the cranes and the position of their stabilizers, in short, the maneuver we require, we need to do it continuously and that is why we are enabling this reversible lane during this period,” he said at a press conference.

This reversible lane will be implemented on the section from Gral. Sostenes Rocha Street to 128 Sur Street, starting on the night of Saturday the 25th to begin operation on Sunday, November 26th from 05:00 to 23:00. After 11:00 p.m., roads will operate as usual.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security will assign 18 police officers, two motorcycle patrols and a crane to that area to support personnel from the Secretariat of Works and Services who work in the confined area.

The alternate routes are Avenida Observatorio, Avenida de las Torres, Paseo de la Reforma and Camino Real a Toluca.

The undersecretary of traffic control, Francisco Moreno, added that the reversible lane schedule could be expanded depending on the influx. “This device will be carried out for a period of four to six weeks, with the possibility of extending the schedule, in case the volume of traffic to the west requires it,” he said.
