Danna and Ceci de la Cueva reunite with “Wicked,” now in theaters – El Sol de México

Danna and Ceci from the Cave will be part, once again, of the universe of “The Wizard of Oz”this time lending their voices to the characters “Glinda” and “Elphaba”performed by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo respectively, both protagonists of the film “Wicked”which will be released in November.

Based on the hit musical Broadway and directed by Jon M. Chu, “Wicked” from Universal Pictures will narrate the previous events that the witches of “Oz” live in the world-renowned story of “The Wizard of Oz”, with a cast that also includes the talent of Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum and Jonathan Bailey.

Danna and Ceci from the Cave will meet their characters again after having played them in the theatre at the end of 2013, when their careers were just beginning to take shape. In the production, presented at the Telcel Theaterthey formed a duo that the public still remembers.

“Reuniting with ‘Elphaba“It was magical, literally!” says Danna in the film’s production notes. “She is a character that has left a deep mark on me, and re-enacting her lines and singing her songs made me remember why I love her so much,” adds the singer of “Notoriety”.

Likewise, the film will mean for Danna her return to dubbing, after giving voice to the characters “Rapunzel” in “Tangled” and “Stripe” in “Raya and the last dragon”both animated films.

For her part, “Glinda” will be the first character that Ceci de la Cueva will dub. “It was like being able to hug a person again.” soulmate that you thought you would never find again,” says the actress.

“I received her with eyes full of tenderness and honor, while I admired her evolution and we caught up and enjoyed each other’s company,” shares Cecilia de la Cueva, who began her artistic career after being part of the reality show “The Academy” in 2011.

Moments after the news of both artists involved in the project was released, expectations for the film have increased for the publicwho have expressed their excitement on Danna and Cecilia de la Cueva’s social networks about hearing them on the big screen.

“It was something very special to be able to return to that harmony that we had in the staging. It was very easy to resume work with Ceci because we understand each other perfectionand that made the dubbing process even more fun and exciting,” Danna shares.

It will be on November 21st when “Wicked” reaches theaters across the country.
