Dos Bocas started operations with less than a third of its capacity – El Sol de México

The Olmeca refinery, inaugurated by the President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in Two Mouths, Tabasco began operations last July 26 months ago with less than a third of its production capacity.

During the seventh month of this year, the refinery produced 1.1 million barrels of diesel ultra low sulfur, that is, about 35,484 barrels per day, according to the Sixth Government Report of the current administration.

The above represented 27.3 percent of the production capacity of this fuel for the refineryone of the priority infrastructure projects for the 4T.

According to the document, in August the refinery reached a processing capacity of 170 thousand barrels of crude oil, a value close to 50 percent, and began production of ultra-low sulfur gasoline.

“The maximum capacity of 340 thousand barrels per day was scheduled to be reached in the last week of August, which means 175 thousand barrels per day (Mbd) of gasoline and 130 Mbd of ultra-low sulfur diesel,” the report added.

The barrels produced by the Olmeca refinery were marketed in three ships to the Tuxpan Terminal, Veracruz, to supply the Valley of Mexico; to the port of Veracruzto supply the center of the state, Puebla, Tlaxcala and other towns bordering the Valley of Mexico; and the Pajaritos Terminal, to supply the south of Veracruz and part of the state of Chiapasas well as by land in the state of Tabasco.

In the morning, in his message to the nation, the President Lopez Obrador He said that the Olmeca refinery had a total cost of 342 billion pesos.

“Only in the fight against huachicolhas generated savings of 342 billion pesos, which is what it cost the nation to build the Dos Bocas refinery,” said the president.

He added that this work will be able to process 340 thousand barrels daily and produce 20 percent of the gasoline from Mexico.
