Wray plans to cite security agency concerns about the terrorism to help persuade lawmakers to increase FBI funding, although he is likely to face strong opposition from Republicans on the panel.

The FBI has become one of the main targets of former Republican President Donald Trump and his allies, as Trump alleges the agency has unfairly gone after him while going soft on his political rivals.
