The former opposition presidential candidate of VenezuelaEdmundo Gonzaleztraveled to Spain as a political asylum seeker, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported on Saturday.
González, 75, left the country after having “voluntarily sought refuge in the embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Caracas for several days,” Rodríguez added in a message on his Instagram account.
The vice president’s message was read shortly after on state television.
