Grandpa dies in line to collect a welfare pension in Benito Juárez – El Sol de México

Next to the line of old people waiting for their turn at the Banco del Bienestar, An elderly man died in the vicinity of the Narvarte Poniente Colony in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office.

Since the early hours of this Wednesday morning, older adults went to the triangle located between Universidad Avenue and Pitágoras Street to collect the Welfare pension.

It was then that right on the corner of the aforementioned streets, the man of around 70 years old fainted on the sidewalk before everyone’s eyes.

People who were passing through the area and who saw the exact moment when the grandfather fell unconscious against the floor ran to try to help him at the same time that they requested support through the panic button found on the site.

After confirming the emergency, camera monitors mobilized uniformed Federal Protection officers, who guarded the perimeter while waiting for paramedics.

An ambulance assigned to the emergency arrived at the point and after checking the victim they could only confirm that he had already died. presumably due to a sudden heart attack.

The place where the older adult lay lifeless remained cordoned off and guarded by the officers, passers-by and neighbors stopped to look at the scene in surprise.

“They have them standing there for hours, it’s disgraceful, “It was much better when everyone arrived at their bench and that’s it, who knows since what time they would have been standing in that place,” mentioned a woman who looked at the man’s corpse with courage.

Minutes later, personnel from the Attorney General’s Office FGJ of Mexico City arrived at the point and after concluding the procedures, they lifted the body to transfer it to the corresponding amphitheater where relatives are expected to come to recognize it.
