It was Thanksgiving Day and not being able to celebrate this celebration, the starving engineers asked Rosa to give them “a turkey” for dinner, so, with an ingenious elaboration, she made them a cake with the few ingredients she still had.

At that moment, he opened a bolillo, placed beans on both lids, then distributed some green enchiladas, boiled egg and served the diners: “Have your turkey,” he told them.

Both engineers responded: “this is not a turkey, it is a turkey because it is simple,” and that is how this food was named.

The turkey has been innovated in its ingredients because now, not only chicken is the option, since there is also pork, sausage, chorizo, Milanese and roast beef.

This food is sold in many other stalls, due to the popularity it has had, but only in Portal de Rosa are the originals sold, which remain at 25 pesos, a lower price than the competition that offers them up to 40 pesos. .

How to get to Tulancingo?
