IAPA asks to update Salta Declaration to avoid plagiarism on digital platforms – El Sol de México

Representatives of the global press and members of the Inter-American Press Society (IAPA) They called for an urgent update of the Salta Declaration in the face of plagiarism of news content from media outlets on digital platforms and social networks such as Tik Tok.

He stressed that a legislative framework does not necessarily have to be created for this purpose, but rather reaching agreements with digital platforms, as has happened in Australia. Another similar example, he recalled, has occurred in the European Union and in Canada.

Etcheverts He also said that the online advertising has concentrated on two digital platforms and this has caused damage to the mediafor which he expressed that the issue must be analyzed so that the press is not continued to be harmed.
