In Texcaltitlán, residents confront alleged members of a criminal group – El Sol de México

A confrontation between residents and alleged members of a criminal group in the community of Texcapilla, in Texcaltitlán, State of Mexico, left several people dead and injured; Preliminary reports indicate 10 people dead, including alleged soldiers.

The incident occurred this Friday morning at a sports field where hundreds of residents reportedly detained armed individuals who were traveling aboard several vehicles.

Despite the presence of alleged soldiers, a confrontation broke out with bullets and machetes between the community members and members of the alleged criminal group.

According to preliminary figures, there are at least 10 people dead, some of them burned by the residents of the area themselves.

Information collected indicates that in this confrontation the head of the plaza in this area died, as well as some alleged soldiers.

So far the authorities have not provided details of this event that occurred in the community of Texcapilla, next to the local primary school.

Social media users spread videos of the confrontation, where dozens of people are seen with firearms and machetes, while gunshots are heard.
