This Tuesday the trailer for the third Sonic movie, the beloved blue hedgehog from SEGA video games, confirming big Hollywood luminaries as part of the live action that will be released on December 20 in Mexican theaters.
Paramount Pictures showed in less than three minutes what we were all waiting for: to see for the first time Shadow, a shadowy hedgehog who will be the villain in this story, and a Hollywood star will be in charge of voicing Sonic’s antagonist in the American version.
The actor Keanu Reeves is the surprise of Sonic 3 The Moviewhere he shares credits with Jim Carrey (Dr. Robotnik), Ben Schwartz (Sonic), Idris Elba (Knuckles), Colleen O’Shaughnessey (Tails), James Marsden (Tom Wachowski), among others.
This is not the first time that Reeves lends his voice for an animated film, he also participated in Toy Story 4, DC League of Super Pets and Cyberpunk 2077.
Similarly, the John Wick protagonist was seen in a cameo in SpongeBob SquarePants: To the Rescue.
Who dubs Sonic in Latin America?
Sonic’s voice will be provided by Luisito Comunica, a Mexican YouTuber and influencer who has played the video game character since the first film, giving him his characteristic voice.
Dr. Robotnik will be dubbed by Mario Castañeda, an actor and dubbing producer who regularly lends his voice to characters played by Jim Carrey.
Actor René García, who has lent his voice to characters such as “Vegueta” and “Batman”, will participate in the film as the voice of Shadow.
