Law student calls for Monreal’s dismissal as UNAM professor – El Sol de México

The graduate student of the Faculty of Law of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Fernando Garcia Veliz requested the dismissal of Morena deputy Ricardo Monreal Ávila as a professor at the institution.

In the petition, admitted on August 30, by the Faculty of Law, García Véliz, who is studying the specialty in Tax Law, requested to the director Sonia Venegas Álvarez who sand remove Monreal from the teaching staff.

“I come to request that remove or remove Mr. Ricardo Monreal Ávila, from the faculty of professors who teach classes at the Faculty of Law or in the Graduate Studies Division, for demonstrating ignorance of the legal and constitutional issues that govern Mexican law in force, as well as not meeting the standard of professionalism required by this school”the document states.

According to the student, Monreal Ávila “indirectly promotes teaching that goes against human rights.”

García, who on social media reports being part of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, also He requested that the Faculty of Law take a position on “the evident constitutional crisis that we are currently facing.”

This Friday, the federal deputy gave classes at the university. Monreal describes this activity as “a haven” for his daily life; “I always enjoy spending time in the mornings with young people, with teachers, with workers,” he said in a video posted on his social networks.
