Marko Cortés asks the INE and TEPJF to eliminate AMLO’s official times for promoting Morena – El Sol de México

Marko Cortes, leader of the National Action Party (PAN), asked the National Electoral Institute (INE) and to Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) eliminate the official times of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on radio and television, warning that they are used as advertising for Brunette and his presidential candidate Claudia Sheinbaum.

Through a Press release, Marko Cortes demanded that the electoral authorities sanction in an exemplary way the “constant intervention” of the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the electoral process and spoke out in favor of removing the official times, since he estimated that imposing a fine “would literally be like removing a hair from a raccoon.”

“The first thing that the electoral referee and judge must guarantee is a level playing field for the entire electoral process,” said the leader.

Cortés Mendoza denounced that The president incurs everything that he criticized so much when he was the opposition: he manipulates the Financial Intelligence Unit and the prosecutor’s offices as political arms to persecute opponents, he uses the public budget and social programs for electoral purposes, becoming the main spokesperson for his candidate and threatening the Supreme Court from the National Palace of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) and the autonomous organizations.

He regretted that López Obrador continues, in the middle of the pre-campaign period, to repeatedly intervene in the electoral processviolating the Constitution and electoral laws, ignoring the agreements and resolutions of the electoral bodies that order him to stop using the presidential apparatus to electorally favor his allied parties and candidates.

Due to the above, National Action expressed its support for the autonomy and independence of electoral institutions and the demand that, in the face of repeated violations of the law, conditions of electoral equity be generated, preventing undue advantages or influences on citizens that come from the Federal Executive, imposing exemplary sanctions that work, so that their compliance is not at the pleasure of the President.
