The project of the Mayan Trainthe largest infrastructure project of the current federal administration, showed delays on some of its fronts within a few weeks to be inaugurated in its entirety.
According to the Sixth Government Report of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, as of June 30 of this year, the further delays were in the Construction of seven booths and 10 visitor service centerswhich showed progress of 39.4 and 51.5 percent in work, respectively.
The report, sent to Congress on Sunday, added that the Construction of the six workshops and garages considered in the Maya Train project presented 55 percent progress at the end of the first half of the year.

In his message to the nation on Sunday morning, President López Obrador assured that In two weeks the Mayan Train will be fully inaugurateda work consisting of 34 stations along the route, which as of June 30 had an overall progress of 89.6 percent.

To complete the Mayan Trainthe federal government has turned to the expropriation of private and social spacesin addition to facing various appeals.
“In order to continue with its construction, they have been published 122 decrees expropriating social property and 11 decrees expropriating private propertywhich correspond to 465 properties,” says the Sixth Government Report.
