Mexican regional shines at the Billboard awards – El Sol de México

The Mexican regional continues to gain recognition around the world, and shows the awards received by some of the most recognized exponents of the genre at the 2023 Billboard Awards.

Fuerza Regida, Eslabón Armado and Peso Pluma were responsible for taking the Mexican regional to the top of the Billboard –particularly the corridos tumbados– with three awards.

In the case of Fuerza Regida they received the Billboard for Best Duet/Group and Best Latin Duet/Group, while Eslabón Armado and Peso Pluma took the Best Latin Song category for “She Baila Sola.”

Before receiving the award, Featherweight performed with the song “Rubicón” on the Billboard stage, and was even accompanied by former boxer Mike Tyson.

However, although the Mexican regional shined on Billboard, Morgan Wallen and Taylor Swift were the top winners of the night, receiving 11 and 10 awards respectively.

Swift was the star of the night, winning the Best Artist category, as well as Best Female Artist and Best Song Sales.
