Michin Aquarium awaits visitors with sharks, jellyfish and more than 350 species – El Sol de México

Sharks, jellyfish, reef fish, and more than 350 marine species live in the Michin Aquarium Mexico Cityin the Gustavo A. Madero mayor’s office.

This Wednesday entrepreneurs and investors They inaugurated the aquarium of more than 30 thousand meters of construction forming by seven pavilions that highlight the cultures of Mexico such as Zapotec, Mayan, Olmec and Mixtec.

The mayor of Gustavo A. Madero, Francisco Chigüil Figueroahighlighted that this aquarium will have a positive economic impact for the inhabitants of the mayor’s office and for the areas near the demarcation such as Ecatepec, Tlanepantla and Nezahualcóyotl which total nearly six million inhabitants.

“Have a high impact for micro and small businesses in San Juan de Aragón and the Basilica of Guadalupe. There is a high demand because we are the second most populated municipality in our city,” he noted.

Rodrigo Alvaro Corderopresident of Acuario Michin, highlighted that the 98 percent of the water they use for the aquarium comes from the seaone percent of the installations of water treatment plants for irrigation and cleaning.

“AND only one percent of the fresh water we use from the Cutzamala Water Systemwhich is managed and dosed for human consumption and the species we house,” he noted.

He highlighted that Michin Aquarium has a conservation program, a wildlife research center and laboratory for water care.

In addition, visitors will find a wide variety of rescued land animals such as capybaras, flamingos, the yellow anaconda, frogs, snakes, among others.

On the top floor of this aquatic space is dedicated to family recreation where people can have fun with activities golf course, climbing walls, batting cages, suspension bridges, skating rinksamong other areas of early stimulation.

Michin Aquarium will be open 365 days a year from 12 noon to 9 pm. The cost of the ticket is 349 pesos per person and the box office will be open until 5 p.m.
