The CEO of MicrosoftSatya Nadella, has announced that the technology company will hire Sam Altman so that lead the creation of a new department focused on artificial intelligence (IA), after his surprise dismissal from OpenAI The last friday.
In a text published this Monday on the social network X, Nadella wrote: “We are extremely excited to share with you that Sam Altman and Greg Brockmanalong with his colleagues, will join Microsoft to lead a new AI research team.”

To this Altman has responded, through the same social network, that “the mission continues.”
Only yesterday media in the United States had announced that Altman and Brockman, who resigned as president of OpenAI after learning of the former’s dismissal, were negotiating with the board to return to their positions in the company.

Among the main investors supporting Altman’s return was Microsoft, which has invested several billion dollars in the company, which it considers its “partner” in the field of artificial intelligence, according to the CNBC network.
OpenaAI employees threaten to leave if the board of directors does not resign
More than 65 percent of the workforce from the artificial intelligence company OpenAI -ChatGPT creator- has threatened to resign from his position and follow his former CEO Sam Altmanto Microsoft if the board of directors that fired him last Friday does not resign, according to different American media.
In an open letter, more than 500 workers of the 770 those the company has have requested the resignation of current members of the board of directors and the reincorporation of San Altman and Greg Brockman to the company, after the first was fired by surprise last Friday and the second resigned after hearing the news.
If they do not do so, the signatories will resign from their position and join the new department focused on artificial intelligence (AI) that San Altman will lead at Microsoft, where the technology company has guaranteed them a job.
“Your actions have made it clear that you are incapable of overseeing OpenAI. We cannot work for or with people who lack skills, judgment, and care for our mission and our employees,” they stated in the letter.
Along with the ultimatum to the board, employees have also proposed the appointment of Bret Tayler and Will Hurd as new independent directors of the company.

Among the signatories of this letter are the technology director, Mira Murati; COO Brad Lightcap; and the chief scientist and member of the board of directors, Ilya Sutskever, who has also apologized for his participation in the body’s decision.
