The national president of Brunette, Mario Delgado and the Secretary of Organization of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE), Santos Cerdan, They signed an agreement to share an agenda and maintain strategies against the far right at a global level.
Together with the director of the National Institute of Political Training of Morena, Rafael Barajas, the Mexican and Spanish political institutes tThey will work for training, organization and solidarity, with the aim of promoting progressive policies in Mexico and in Spain, as well as the fight against the international far right.
Mario Delgado celebrated the formation of alliances with other progressive parties, and stated that both Morena and the PSOE are united in the fight for the expansion of rights for the peopleas well as being against the strategies used by the extreme right worldwide.
“Today we signed this agreement with the PSOE because We are united by progressive ideals in favor of the people, in favor of the most humble.“We share the agenda of expanding rights and, above all, we are united against the strategy of the extreme right in the world,” he said.
The Morena leader highlighted which, fortunately, Progressive and left-wing thinking has prevailed over the right in the political battle, but warned that, both in Mexico and in other countries, the latter uses “lthe same methods of financing and their aspiration is to try to deceive our people in order to return to power.”
“We are coming from an election on June 2, where we had an intense campaign by the right that invented slander to try to tarnish the image of our movement, our President and our candidate. But Despite the fact that they invested millions of dollars in the dirty war, the good news is that the people of Mexico did not believe anything they said, and they were absolutely defeated.”he added.
For its part, Santos Cerdán, Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, explained that the objective of the agreement is to “strengthen ties and promote progressive policies on both sides of the Atlantic with which to build a more just, peaceful, and equal world. We want to deepen the relationship between both parties, establish a strong and long-lasting alliance that allows us to exchange practices and knowledge to, ultimately, make each other stronger.”.
He reaffirmed that The threat from the far right is real and seriousas its intention is to reverse the many advances in rights that have been achieved. For this reason, he said, The Spanish party celebrated the overwhelming victory of Claudia Sheinbaum and Morena.
“That is why we are so happy to see Morena’s victory. We have been thrilled with each of its steps and achievements, with its desire to modernize Mexico with more and better public services; with its desire to promote education and healthcare, to defend social equality and equality between men and women, and to provide a better quality of life for all Mexicans.”

The Spanish party leader said that the progressive policies implemented in Mexico and Spain have brought great benefits to both countries. “In Mexico, for example, thanks to the extensive deployment of social measures, more than 5 million people have emerged from poverty. In the same way, in Spain we have led initiatives that transcend our borders, leading the way in the fight for equality and social justice. A government that has raised the minimum professional salary like never before, just like here in Mexico.”
