Norma Piña condemns acts of violence in demonstrations against judicial reform – El Sol de México

The President of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, Norma Piña Hernández condemned various acts of violence raised this Tuesday in different protestss carried out by PJF workers against judicial reform.

Through a statement issued by the Federal Judicial Council (CJF), Piña explained that the acts of violence committed This day against workers, students and civil society who protested against judicial reform are “an obstacle to the fulfillment of the objectives that unite us as Mexicans, the safeguarding of human rights and the rule of law.”

“The Presidency of the Federal Judicial Council categorically rejects any act of violence (…) We reiterate that this is not the solution in the search for impartial and independent justice, for the benefit of society, and we urge dialogue as the only way to exchange ideas in this process,” added the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Finally, Piña urged authorities to ensure the safety of protesters and respect their human rights.
