Overturn leaves five people dead in León, Guanajuato – El Sol de México

León, Gto.- Five people dead and one more seriously injured, It was the result of a spectacular and regrettable accident recorded early this Tuesday in the Lomas de Arbide neighborhood in León, Guanajuato.

The accident was reported at 1:00 a.m. this Tuesday on Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra Boulevard, almost on the corner of Ferrocarriles Nacionales Street.

In the black Jetta-type car, six people were traveling, heading from Ferrocarriles Nacionales to Mariano Escobedo. First reports indicate that the driver of the car lost control of the steering wheel, crossed the cyclone fence of a school, spun several times and ended up hitting the wall of a food restaurant located there. After the crash, the car caused a hole in the fence of the business.

Motorists and employees of a gas station located in the area, who noticed the accident, immediately reported the incident to the authorities.

Firefighters and Civil Protection paramedics immediately came to assess the injured but unfortunately confirmed that the five people, one of them who was traveling as the co-pilot and the other four in the back seat, were no longer alive.

The driver, who was also trapped between the bars of the vehicle, was freed and taken to a hospital where he is in very critical condition.

The identity of the deceased has not been revealed but it was preliminarily reported that they were three men and two women.

The road was closed from Ferrocarriles Nacionales to Mariano Escobedo and the expert reports and removal of the bodies concluded around eight in the morning.
