Paseo de la Reforma Avenue is closed in both directions by groups and relatives of missing persons protesting on the Day of Forced Disappearances.
The closure of the central lanes of one of the most important roads in Mexico City began early this Friday
The blockade is right at the Angel of Independence monument, where the groups are preparing for a march that will start at approximately 11 a.m. at this point towards the capital’s Zócalo.
The capital’s Citizen Security Secretariat has cut off traffic, but vehicle traffic is severely affected.
The alternative route is Chapultepec and Río Pánuco.
The Metrobús Line 7 service between Insurgentes and Reforma has also been suspended, causing hundreds of people to have to walk several kilometers to reach their destinations.
