Police who shot the Ayotzinapa normal student are sentenced to preventive detention – El Sol de México

David “N”, a police officer who shot Yanqui Khotan Gómez Peralta, a student from Ayotzinapa, was taken to a Judicial Branch court in Acapulco where he was sentenced to preventive detention.

Due to intelligence work by the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the arrest of state police officer David “N” and on Wednesday night he was transferred to a federal court in Acapulco where the normal student’s mother and Yanqui’s lawyers and defenders of the victim participated.

The director of the “Minerva Bello” Human Rights Center for Victims of Violence, Filiberto Velázquez said that The pressure from the normalistas helped expedite the arrest of the state police officer.

Likewise, he asked that an investigation be carried out on who helped state police officer David “N” escape and who hid him.

“All those who, in one way or another, covered for the police or otherwise participated in their protection must be investigated,” he said.

The director of the “Minerva Bello” Center also expressed that they know that the authorities are acting and that they hope they continue to do so so that there is asatisfactory conviction.

Regarding Yanqui’s mother, she commented that she has a feeling of anger and could not yet have full confidence in the judicial process that is being carried out, and that she also hopes that the person who was detained is really the one who allegedly shot his sonsince he argued that there is suspicion that he is or is not the person involved.
