Mariana Gutiérrez, the president of the Liga MX Femenil, will meet this Tuesday with senators of the Republic to express her concern about the ruling on equal salaries for sports professionals that will go to the Plenary Session for discussion.
The Liga MX board has stated that the legislators’ proposal endangers professional women’s soccer.
Gutiérrez, as well as representatives from other professional sports, are expected to arrive after noon to discuss the issue.
The meeting is expected to be attended by legislators from the Labor Commission, the Equality Commission and the Second Legislative Studies Commission, so that they can learn firsthand about the problems that this agreement would represent for professional soccer players.
