The president of Israeli Central Committee from Uruguay, Roby Schindler, and from the Jewish NGO B’Nai B’Rith in Uruguay, Franklin Rosenfeld, pointed out this week that the artist was a “propagator” of anti-jewish hatredin letters addressed to the Sofitel Montevideo and published on the social network X.
Schindler called Waters “misogynist, xenophobic and antisemitic“, while Rosenfeld threatened to call on everyone to avoid the Sofitel chain if it decided to host the “anti-Semitic artist.”

In addition, councilors of Montevideo, opponents of the capital’s government, asked to annul the municipal resolution of October 30 that declared Waters’ new show of cultural interest.
