The Control Judge issued one year of preventive detention to the mayor of Nuevo Casas Grandes, Cynthia Marina CD, after resuming the charging hearing the first minutes of this Wednesday.
The resolution was issued by Judge Laura Mendoza after a recess that lasted more than four hours to determine the precautionary measure that would be imposed on who he is accused of embezzlement aggravated by the irregular sale of properties corresponding to the municipality of Nuevo Casas Grandes.

The preventive detention was requested by the Public Ministry after the defense requested the duplication of the legal term, which gives room for evidence to be presented by the defense, so The hearing will resume on Friday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m.
According to Judge Laura Mendoza, by taking advantage of this figure, it allows a temporary extension so that the accused can give him more time to exercise his defense.
So the defense will have time to gather evidence during this period.
The mayor was arrested on Sunday, November 12, on charges of aggravated embezzlement for amount that exceeds two million pesos.
However, the Public Ministry requested preventive detention. At your requestthe mayor was required to hand over her passport arguing that there is a possibility of her evading justice.
Ramón Anchondo, public prosecutor, pointed out that there are reasons to believe that the mayor could extract justice, based on the lack of roots and the facilities she has to be able to leave.
