The board of directors of OpenAI surprised on Friday by announcing the immediate firing of Altman, a Silicon Valley star, following the “deliberative review by the board (of directors), which concluded that he was not always candid in his communication with the board, which hindered their ability to carry out their responsibilities.
The board lost “confidence in his ability to lead OpenAI,” the company added.
