Victoria Beckham ventures into luxury watch design – El Sol de México

Several big names in fashion gathered in New York for an intimate celebration in which Victoria Beckham and Georges Kern, CEO of the Swiss luxury watch brand, Breitling, presented the Chronomat 36 Victoria Beckham collection, limited to only 1,500 pieces; The line naturally combines heritage and modernity, combining more than 140 years of Swiss watchmaking and design with the elegant style of the former Spice Girl.

“Victoria Beckham is a brand that defines calm and modern luxury, everything about it is sublime and perfectly weighted, but its comfort means it can be worn all day into the night,” Kern said.

The also wife of the famous soccer player, David Beckhamshared that the collection was exciting, “it was a true exchange. It was exciting to collaborate closely with the craftsmanship and know-how of Breitling, bringing my aesthetic,” he told the guests.

She also reflected on her personal vision of the collection, “it is the perfect watch for those women looking for something versatile. It is sublime and elegant, but has a relaxed touch. I have always liked to dress combining the masculine with the feminine and, deep down, I am quite a minimalist.”

Equipped with the Breitling caliber 10, the line retains the classic characteristics of the Chronomat, including the metallic rouleaux bracelet and the raised mobile indexes that mark the quarters, and introduces new color combinations inspired by the palette of the Beckham spring-summer 2024 collection, mint, midnight blue, dove gray and sand.

The collection features the logo of Victoria Beckham on the seconds hand and subtly engraved on the bracelet, and the case is offered in stainless steel or yellow gold, an eternal material recovered by the Swiss house, only for this collection. The dials also refer to the exclusive and limited nature of the edition: “One of 400”, as read on each of the stainless steel pieces, or “One of 100” on each of the gold variants.

The campaign embodies the strength, sophistication and unexpected touch that characterize the archetype of a woman of Breitling already Victoria Beckham. It was shot by legendary Italian fashion photographer and portraitist Mario Sorrenti (a regular contributor to Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar) and stars model Annemary Aderibigbe.

The dinner took place at the Indochine restaurant in NoHo, an elegant place that was ad hoc for the occasion, where a select group of personalities gathered, including the star of the collection’s campaign, Annemary Aderibigbe, and top models such as Frida Aasen, Lara Worthington and Helena Christensen. Actress Katie Holmes also attended, along with writer and television personality Derek Blasberg.

Other notable attendees were Breitling ambassadors Misty Copeland, principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, and model Ronja Furrer. The evening began with a welcome aperitif, followed by a sumptuous dinner of Indochine’s signature French-Vietnamese dishes and a night of dancing by DJ Elias Becker.
