Wall of house collapses in Jiutepec; minors died – El Sol de México

A landslide occurred in the Jardín Juárez neighborhood of Jiutepec, left three girls deadaccording to reports from local authorities.

The incident occurred due to the Collapse of the wall of a house on Narciso Mendoza Streetcaused by the softening of the ground as a result of the heavy rains recorded during the night of Friday 30th and the early morning of Saturday 31st August.

Since the early hours of the morning, personnel from the Jiutepec Civil Protection and Rescue Directorate, together with the Mexican Red Crosshas been working on rescue efforts.

So far, The bodies of three girls have been recovered: Aidé, Danny and Nataly, aged two, five and seven; although search and rescue operations continue in the area, it was learned that the mother of a minor, only 22 years old, survived and is injured.

In the place, the Commander of the 24th Military Zone, José Luis Lucio Quirozexplained to the media that 60 elements of the National Guard and the Mexican Army are conducting a census in order to urge the population to evacuate their homes and go to a shelter to protect their safety, since rain is forecast.

More rain is forecast in the next 48 hours

In a press release, the Government of Morelos reported that around 03:00 hours this Saturday The collapse of a wall was reported and it was warned that similar weather conditions are expected over the weekend, and urged the Jiutepec City Council to notify nearby homes about the risk and to consider setting up a temporary shelter. In case of emergency, the CEPCM made available the numbers 911 and (777) 100 0515 to request support.

In this regard, the municipal government of Jiutepec also called on the population to remain alert and report any emergency to the telephone numbers provided for prompt attention: 911 and 777-320-75-33.
