Due to its geographical location, this country has high seismic activityalthough there are other nations worldwide that suffer Earth movements of greater intensity.
On the contrary, according to the Mexican Geological Service (SGM), there are also areas on Earth that have little or no seismic activity.

According to the SGM, there are active zones of the earth’s crust very prone to suffer major seismic movementswhich coincide with the areas of impact or friction of the plates and are called “seismic regions.”

According to the agency, if the global distribution of epicenters is compared with the tectonic platesit can be seen that the seismic bands correspond mostly with the boundaries between the plates, that is: Each type of interaction between plates produces earthquakes.
In this same vein, the Geological Service of Mexico points out that it is expected that in regions where strong earthquakes have already occurred, they may occur again in the future.
