At the start of the conference, the attendees, who came from different states of the Republic and various countries in Latin America and Spain, greeted the president with a shout of “Come on!” and chanted “It is an honor to be with Obrador.”
Although the time established by the Presidential Spokesperson for entry to the morning press conference was indicated to be at 5:00 AM, the attendees who occupied the first rows They showed up at the National Palace at 11:00 pm on Thursday to queue for entry.
The day before, López Obrador said that this meeting would serve to “combat the power of conventional media.”
“There is a lot of potential, not from the journalists of before or in the conception of journalism that was done before, but already on the networks one can be doing analysis, one can be replicating and answering lies, falsehoods, denouncing,” said the president on August 28.

He First Continental Meeting of Independent Communicators “To Inform is to Liberate” will be held this Friday, August 30 and 31 to carry out discussion tables to define strategies that help build a communication network between attendees to replicate information from the Press, Radio and Television corporations that López Obrador has constantly disqualified, since he claims that they are “vassals” of economic power.
