Now, after a couple of years without having been seen on the big screen, the first images of Angelina Jolie as Maria Callas in the new film by the Chilean director come out Pablo Larrain‘Maria’, a biographical feature film of the Greek opera singer and how she lived her last days in Paris in the 70s, a production that historically interprets some of the adventures that Callas had when she decided to enter the center of Europe.
The film will have a talented cast, among which we can find Pierfrancesco FavinoAlba Rohrwacher, Haluk Bilginer, Valeria Golino, Kodi Smit-McPhee and of course the protagonist of the film, Angeline Jolie, as an interesting fact, the film will use leather clothing such as dresses and accessories based on the authentic ones worn by the singer, where even the production team cooperated with PETA to avoid the use of new cosmetics on skin.
The film is already a fact and not even the strikes hollywood may affect its production and development, since the work was classified as ‘independent production’ according to a direct agreement with the union SAG-AFTRA. According to the information provided by the same team, they have a period of eight weeks to shoot the scenes in France, Greece, Hungary and Italy.
There is no confirmed release date yet, but it is known that this will be one of director Larraín’s best installments and of course it will mean the return of Angelina Jolie as an actress, taking into account that her last appearance was a couple of years ago in ‘Eternals‘ like Thena.
