The actor had undergone three interrogations, the most recent last weekend in which he was questioned for 19 hours, and had told investigators that the woman had tricked him into using the substances.

Lee tested negative for drugs in the reagent test he underwent during the investigation, as well as in a laboratory test conducted by the National Forensic Service in November.

The interpreter had submitted a request on Tuesday to the police department leading the investigation to undergo a polygraph test, claiming his innocence and today it was learned that the police denied the request.

Lee Suk-kyun left a note in which he said he felt overwhelmed by the circumstances surrounding the investigation into his alleged drug use that began in October and in which he considered taking his own life to be “the only solution.”

And the harshness with which the police department of the city of Incheon, Seoul, in charge of the investigation, handled his case has been criticized on social networks and the media.

In that sense, the department itself acknowledged today that it did not allow Lee to attend any of his interrogations without having to appear before the media, a right that was actually guaranteed to him by South Korean law.
