AMLO criticizes Milei’s victory in Argentina: it was an own goal – El Sol de México

Andrés Manuel López Obrador He assured this Tuesday in his morning conference that there is no “risk” that the right will return to govern Mexico in 2024, as happened this Sunday in the Argentine elections with the victory of Javier Milei.

“Here, we do not have that risk, there is nothing to fear, the people of Mexico are very aware, they are one of the most politicized people in the world and they know very well that right-wing governments only favor minorities, they are defenders of conservatism, They are the right-wing governments employed by the oligarchies, they dedicate themselves to looting the people, the nations, they have neither love nor respect for the people, that is already known here,” said the president.

He also expressed that Mexico and Argentina are not going to break their ties of friendship because of the election result this Sunday and stressed that There is a very good relationship with all Argentines and he even recalled that the soccer player Diego Armando Maradona recognized his electoral victory.

He also said that Pope Francis has been very good to Mexico and stressed that he does not agree with the right-wing governments because they turn their backs on the people.

This Sunday, Argentines elected the far-right candidate Javier Milei as its new president. Given this electoral result, López Obrador said that respects the decision made by the majority in Argentina, although he added that “it is something that we consider is not going to help them (that country), but the people are sovereign even with all the undemocratic elements used by the mafia of economic power and political power everywhere. For example, the control of the media,” he reproached.

He maintained that “media control is impressive in Argentinain Chiliin Mexico, but it is worse there, there is a lot of manipulation. To put it in a word, with all due respect, it was an own goal and I do not agree although I respect the decision of the people with the right-wing governments,” said the Mexican president.

In addition, He criticized the right and said that they represent classist, racist and hypocritical governments: “I do not agree with classist, racist governments, I do not agree with the hypocrisy that characterizes the right. In the world the only doctrine of the right is hypocrisy is what I can say,” he indicated.

He also referred to the displays of support for Milei from the former presidents Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderón and the Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosaand He said they are showing themselves like conservatives:

“Now with the election of Argentina, Fox, Calderón, Vargas Llosa, well, there they are. Before they confused many, now they don’t. Now it’s like the times of the late Fidel Velázquez (who said) I’m a charro and what, I’m a conservative and what, I’m right-wing and what,” said the president.

He added that with these expressions the simulation ended, “that did a lot of damage, it created media coverage and they are moments of definition” and that is very good.

Imagine the joy that the triumph of the right in Argentina causes him to (Leo) Zuckerman or (Enrique) Krauze or Aguilar Camín, to everyone, everyone, everyone. Nothing more than the history of Mexico is exceptional, fruitful, we achieved our independence, but at the same time fighting to abolish slavery,” said the president.
