After Haley withdraws, Biden invites his voters to the Democratic campaign – El Sol de México

US President Joe Biden invited Nikki Haley’s voters this Wednesday to join his own campaign after the Republican candidate’s withdrawal, stressing that “what is at stake for the United States could not be more important.”

“We all know that this is not just any election. I know that Democrats, Republicans and independents disagree on many issues and have strong convictions. That’s good. That’s what America represents. But I also know this “What unites Democrats, Republicans and independents is a love for America,” he said in a statement.

Biden spoke out shortly after Haley abandoned the Republican primaries after her poor results in the Super Tuesday event, where she only won against former President Donald Trump (2017-2021) in the state of Vermont.

“Trump made it clear that he does not want the support of Nikki Haley’s voters. I want to be clear: there is a place for them in my campaign,” said the Democratic president.

Biden admitted that although “there are many things” on which he and Haley’s supporters will not agree, he hopes to find common ground “on fundamental issues like preserving American democracy, defending the rule of law, (…) preserving NATO and confront America’s adversaries.

Until now, Haley was the only candidate left in the race against Trump to win the Republican nomination for the November presidential elections and Biden praised her courage for having tried.

“It takes a lot of courage to run for president; that’s especially true in today’s Republican Party, where very few dare to tell the truth about Trump. But not Nikki Haley. Nikki Haley proved to be brave,” he noted.

Haley, in his opinion, “was willing to tell the truth about Trump: about the chaos that always surrounds him, about his inability to distinguish right from wrong, about his cowardice before (Russian President) Vladimir Putin.”
