Civil marriage unions represent an economic expense because, at least in Mexico City, you must pay 906 pesos if you want a marriage in a Civil Registry office, while in an alternate location you would spend 1,820 pesos. To help your economy, the city government, this April organized a collective wedding day 2024.
According to the CDMX government, the purpose of collective weddings is to facilitate the right to marry for participating couples and regularize their marital status free of charge.
What are the requirements to participate in collective weddings?
If you are interested in participating in a collective wedding 2024you must submit the following documents Monday to Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. April 3 to 12:
- Certified copy of the birth certificate of the suitors
- Original and copy of proof of address, no older than three months
- Original and copy of a valid official identification of both people
- Certificate of Registration of Delinquent Food Debtors
These documents must be delivered to one of the following courts:
Miguel Hidalgo Mayor’s Office:
- Court 9. Calzada México Tacuba s/n. corner Arabian Sea, Tacuba neighborhood
- Court 11. Monte Altai corner with Alpes, Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood V section
- Court 16. Avenida Industria Militar s/n, parking lot attached to Sedena
Iztacalco Mayor’s Office:
- Court 24. Avenida Río Churubusco corner Avenida Té
- Court 34. Sur 8 corner Oriente 237, Agrícola Oriental neighborhood
Who can participate in collective weddings 2024?
In this collective wedding day you will be able to participate only the inhabitants of the Miguel Hidalgo and Iztacalco municipalities. However, every month the General Directorate of the Civil Registry organizes free collective weddings in each of the 16 municipalities of CDMX.
Where and when will the 2024 collective weddings be?
The collective wedding will take place on Friday April 26, on the esplanade of the Central Office, located at Arcos de Belén 19, Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office.
