Armed groups and the Army confront each other in Sonoyta, Sonora – El Sol de México

This Friday, several armed confrontations between criminal groups and elements of the Mexican Army and the National Guard were recorded in Sonoyta, Sonora.

The Sonora Public Security agency reported through its Twitter account that the confrontation left five detainees and 13 vehicles seized, which were found with weapons inside.

Likewise, they announced that an operation coordinated by the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), National Guard, State Police, AMIC and Municipal Police is active to preserve the safety of the inhabitants in the area.

The above adds to the toll of six deaths left by another armed attack at a meeting in the Cajeme neighborhood, north of the city, where a group fired directly at the attendees.

According to the preliminary report of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGJE), the attack could have been direct against a person who was the leader of a criminal group and had arrest warrants for attempted femicide, qualified homicide, and illegal deprivation. of freedom and criminal association.
