“We must protect against the predatory use of AI to steal the voice and image of professional artists, violate creators’ rights and destroy the music ecosystem”

“When used irresponsibly, AI poses enormous threats to our ability to protect our privacy, our identities, our music and our life. Some of the largest and most powerful companies are using, without permission, our work as human artists with massive amounts of sounds and images “created by AI that substantially dilute the royalty funds paid to artists,” say the artists.

They also warn that if the AI is not controlled, a “race to the bottom” will be launched that will degrade the value of their jobs. “It will prevent us from receiving fair compensation for him,” they warn.

“We call on all developers of AI so that they commit to not developing or deploying technology, content or tools for generating music by AI that undermine or replace the human art of composers and artists or deny us fair compensation for our work,” they point out.
