Carlos Slim maintained that the collapse of Metro Line 12 in 2021 was due to lack of maintenance, and not due to defects in the original construction.
During a press conference convened on the afternoon of February 12 at the facilities of the Slim Foundation, the life president of Grupo Carso pointed out that the so-called golden line operated for years without problems.
“Many things that have been done have lacked maintenance, not only in this government, in several; not only in this place, in several,” said Slim, who did not provide data or further information about this assertion.
“Something that lasts 12 years with 12 million people going through it and then presents a problem, I don’t see it as a failure,” he added.
