The Revolutionary Guard of Iran captured a ship “associated” with Israel this Saturday in the Persian Gulf, amid tensions over the possible Iranian response to Israeli attack on its consulate in Damascusreported media from the Persian country.
“The Navy of the Revolutionary Guard seized a cargo ship associated with the Zionist regime (Israel),” reported the Tasnim agency, linked to that elite military body.
The captured ship would be the ‘MSC ARIES’, with the Portuguese flagand according to Tasnim, linked to the Israeli-owned company ‘Zodiac Maritime’.
The ship “linked” to Israel has 25 crew members on board, reported the MSC company, which “is working closely with the competent authorities” to guarantee the safety of its occupants.
“We regret to confirm that the vessel MSC Aries, owned by Gortal Shipping Inc, affiliated with Zodiac Maritime and chartered to MSC, was boarded by Iranian authorities with a helicopter while crossing the Strait of Hormuz at around 2.43 GMT this morning,” it says. a statement.
