One person has died and five more are injured in a shooting at a New York subway station, according to local press reports.
The event took place at the Mount Eden station, in the Bronx county, around 4:30 p.m. local time (9:30 p.m. GMT).
In a message on the social network X, the New York Police asked the population to avoid the area between Inwood Avenue and Townsend Avenue due to “an active police investigation.”
According to local network ABC7, one of the victims of the shooting died after arriving at the hospital. For its part, the New York Post adds that one of the victims was shot in the face.
At this time, no arrests have been made and the murder weapon has not been found.
