He indicated that tests will also be carried out to be able to make direct routes between Cancún and Mérida to “seek to be much more efficient in the routes.”
The construction of the Mayan Train is one of the emblematic programs of the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and it is estimated that so far it exceeds 330 billion pesos. In 2021, 38 billion pesos were allocated, by 2022 it grew to 195.5 billion pesos, while until the third quarter of 2023, 148.2 billion pesos had been spent.
