At least four police officers died during a confrontation in Huéjucar; another is missing – El Sol de México

A strong confrontation left four police officers dead in Huéjucar and another is missing. The magnitude of the confrontation mobilized corporations from the three levels of Government, by land and air.

The confrontation between civilians and police occurred this Wednesday night, shortly before midnight, in the town of San José de los Márquez, in the municipality of Huéjucar, in the Northern region, on the border with Zacatecas.

Sources from the Security areas of the Government of Jalisco confirm that the preliminary balance is four dead police officers, three of them from Huéjucar, one from Santa María de los Ángeles and another from that same place, missing.

Elements of the Mexican Army, National Guard, State Security Secretariat and surrounding municipal corporations are already there.

There is also a record of 12 wounded, including police and civilians who allegedly participated in the confrontation.

In that community a strong security device is in place, after what happened and that stole the residents’ dreams.

Just on January 17, a group of women from the Wixárika community asked the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes alias “El Mencho” for help to stop the wave of violence unleashed by the plaza boss.

This February 5, the second chief of the plaza on the borders of Jalisco and Zacatecas, Blesmer Yoagel, 23 years old, originally from Colombia, was arrested by Zacatecan authorities, so it is not ruled out that the attack is related to his capture.
