César Yáñez, head of the Undersecretary of Democratic Development, Social Participation and Religious Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob) leave his position this Monday to join the campaign Claudia Sheinbaum.
Sources close to the Segob confirmed to El Sol de México that Yáñez, who was spokesperson for the current president for more than 18 years Andrés Manuel López Obradorleaves his position in the Federal government to join the campaign of Claudia Sheinbaum.
Although the official has not yet handed over the position yet, he is already preparing everything in his office to leave the agency.
In June 2022, the president López Obrador named Yanezone of his closest men as undersecretary in the Segobalthough he himself commented that he continued to support the president in liaison work prior to taking office.
